Plainkit is a small UK studio that builds simple, independent tools. This policy covers the Plainkit site (plainkit.co.uk) and the early-stage tools we host on it, such as those at plainkit.co.uk/<name>. It explains, in plain terms, what personal data we collect and why. We don't sell your data.

The short version: the only thing we ask for is your email address, and only if you choose to give it. We use Google Analytics to see how these pages are used, but only if you accept it on the cookie banner — nothing is set until you do.

The email you give us

If one of our tools invites you to reserve a place, join a waitlist or be notified when something opens, we collect the email address you enter so we can email you about that tool. The lawful basis is your consent. We hold it on our own server, never sell or rent it, and you can ask us to delete it at any time.

Analytics (Google Analytics)

We use Google Analytics to see how many people visit and which pages are useful, so we can improve them. It's off by default: when you first arrive you'll see a cookie banner, and no analytics cookies are set and no data is sent until you choose "Accept". If you click "Decline" (or ignore it), nothing is stored. Google Analytics 4 does not record full IP addresses, and we don't use analytics data for advertising.

You can change your mind at any time using the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page. Withdrawing is as easy as accepting was — decline and we also delete any measurement cookies already in your browser.

What each cookie does

Set only after you accept: _ga and _ga_<id> (Google Analytics — counts visits and tells a returning browser from a new one; expire after 2 years).
Always on, and not really cookies: cf-consent stores your answer to the banner in your own browser and is never sent to us.
Cloudflare: __cf_bm and similar, to tell real visitors from bots (about 30 minutes).

Hosting

The site is served through Cloudflare, which processes standard request data (such as your IP address) to deliver the page and protect against abuse.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask what data we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it. Email [email protected] and we'll respond.

Changes

If this policy changes, the "last updated" date above changes with it.
